Bread & Circus was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in June 2020. Guy Fieri came downtown and filmed Season 38, "Spicin' Things Up." Chef Jordan made him the Vietnamese Fried Chicken and the Curried Cauliflower. On his way out of Sioux Falls, he ordered the entire menu to-go for the flight.
Chef Jordan Taylor trained at Western Culinary School in Portland and spent years cooking under James Beard Award-winning chefs in the Pacific Northwest. Co-Owner Barry Putzke grew up in Sioux Falls, worked corporate, and walked away from it. They went to Roosevelt High School together, both ended up in Portland, and came back in 2016 with one idea: take the techniques from serious kitchens and put them into food people eat every day. Good food, no attitude, no white tablecloths.
Bread & Circus opened in 2017 and has become a fan favorite of The Steel District in Downtown Sioux Falls. It's also been featured on the Food Network. The Moroccan Chicken Salad was named the best salad in South Dakota. BuzzFeed named us the best sandwich spot in the state.
The Food
Every dish starts with quality ingredients and proper technique. We draw from food traditions around the world: Vietnamese, Moroccan, American, and beyond. The menu evolves, but the hits stay.
Vietnamese Fried Chicken. Curried Cauliflower. Naughty Fries. Moroccan Chicken Salad. These dishes have been on the menu since day 1 for a reason. The Vietnamese Fried Chicken and Curried Cauliflower were what Guy Fieri featured during our episode of DDD.
